Our Road to Wembley started way back in August when we followed Padiham in their extra-preliminary round game against Staveley Miners Welfare. Padiham suffered a crushing 5-0 defeat that day in front of 90 spectators and that led to what has been a somewhat unsuccessful time for the Clarets Mad teams.
In the eight rounds so far the Clarets Mad team has been beaten in all but one of them, Warrington Town defying the odds in the Second Round Qualifying and beating Bamber Bridge.
Swindon Supermarine were out team in the Second Round Proper but they suffered a very unfortunate 1-0 defeat at Colchester and so we are now with the Essex team as they face Swansea away.
There are Burnley links with both teams. Our former assistant manager John Ward is currently in charge of Colchester whilst Swansea include in their squad our former loan player Nathan Dyer.
Swansea are favourites even without the Clarets Mad curse and are expected to be our team in the Fourth Round.
