Branchy opts for Cammell Laird

It was thought that he'd agreed the move with the Vics, managed by Dino Maamria who was Burnley's Ethnic Minorities Development manager until his football took him south when he joined Stevenage Borough from Leigh RMI in February 2003.

But Branchy has instead opted to move to Cammell Laird who are enjoying their first season in the Unibond Premier League having been promoted last season because Retford United couldn't move up because of their ground.

Cammell Laird are based in Birkenhead and that means Branchy has gone full circle having started his career there with Tranmere Rovers. His new club lost their opening game on Saturday, going down 2-0 at Guiseley.
