The recent goings on at Ibrox had even led to Lafferty being linked with a move back to Burnley, but for a number of reasons that was hardly likely to happen.
However, he made the decision to leave and has today signed for Swiss club FC Sion in what is being described as a mega-bucks deal which will see him in the Swiss League for the next three years.
