A quiet weekend for ex-Clarets and goals

That goal came from the penalty spot in a 3rd Division game at Feethams between Darlington and Southend United and came from Mark Ford with the goal giving the home side a 2-0 defeat. Southend came back though to grab a point in a 2-2 draw.

Into the Conference and Phil Eastwood gave Southport the lead at Stevenage with just nine minutes gone but within two minutes the home side were level. A penalty on 22 minutes completed the scoring and gave Stevenage a 2-1 win.

Former Football League club Doncaster Rovers won 2-1 at Dover Athletic with the only goal of the game on 13 minutes scored by former Burnley striker Paul Barnes. It has been a tough time this season since joining Doncaster. He was expected to sign for Nuneaton Borough after scoring ten goals for them last season in a nine game loan spell but instead moved to South Yorkshire.

Injury kept him out at the start of the season and Saturday was only his fourth start of the season and brought his first goal. Barnes scored 140 Football League goals, 30 of those were for the Clarets in 65 appearances. He left in a swap for Andy Payton in January 1998, did Waddle really do that?

We have been asked about Kevin Henderson who was a regular in our ex-Clarets reports last season. Is he still at Hartlepool we have been asked? The answer is yes but Henderson has had injuries this season and has played in just eleven league games this season and has scored just the one goal in a 3-1 win at Shrewsbury back in August. He hasn't appeared for the first team since early November.
