Although not ideal Marlon seems happy enough with the current arrangement for now although would prefer to sign a longer term deal.
Marlon said after signing, "I'm really pleased about it because it suits me and I think it suits the club as well but hopefully we will be able to review things before the end of this month though because I need to think about my future. Ideally for me it would be better to get something sorted out long term with a bit more security.
"That is my hope but the chairman's away at the moment. Hopefully we'll be able to discuss it when he returns."
He did admit though that he does need a longer deal or he will have to look elsewhere and added,
"The ideal scenario for me would be to stay at Burnley. Without a doubt Burnley is a club very close to my heart and I'm sure everyone's aware of that, so to stay here as long as possible would be great.
"But, at the same time, you've got to sign a contract that you're happy with because you have a family to look after."
With the current situation regarding player availability Stan will be delighted to have secured his first choice keeper if once again it is only for a month. A two and a half year deal has been on the table for some time but club and player cannot come to any agreement on that.
But it will be Burnley that Marlon lines up for on Saturday and not Preston despite Craig Brown's interest in signing him.
