Stead made a sensation start when he signed for Blackburn from Huddersfield Town almost four years ago, but the last three and a half years have been difficult with goals hard to come by.
It hasn't stopped other clubs signing him. He moved to Sunderland and then Sheffield United a year ago whilst also enjoying a loan spell with Derby. The Blades paid £750,000 for him but in all he's gone for almost £4 million so far in his career.
Stead has netted 42 goals in almost 200 league goals with over half of them coming for Huddersfield Town.
