A week earlier he'd been named as a substitute for the FA Cup tie at Burnley by Arsene Wenger and just a few days before he'd played in their Carling Cup success at Ewood Park against Blackburn.
Owen Coyle said of the signing: "I am delighted to bring such a good young talented player to the football club. He is a tremendous addition for us and I am sure he will go on to have an outstanding career. I hope we can play a big part in his development.
"I am pretty sure he will provide some good competition in the midfield area. Mark has been in and around the Arsenal first team. We have been watching him for a while and I would like to pass on my thanks to all at Arsenal Football Club, particularly Liam Brady who was so helpful in making this move happen.
Randall will now join the Burnley squad and will wear the number 10 shirt vacated by Andy Gray.
