Coyne out of Welsh trip

He is one of four players from the Coca-Cola League Championship to pull out alongside Nathan Blake (Leicester), Danny Gabbidon (Cardiff) and John Oster (Sunderland) with hamstring, achilles and shin injuries respectively.

Coyne’e problem is the ankle injury which he sustained in the opening game of the season against Sheffield United and the injury that almost kept him out of the draw at Rotherham last Tuesday when for the second time he won the Clarets Mad man of the match award.

Instead of travelling to Riga he will remain in Burnley for treatment, although he will be unable to play in Tuesday’s testimonial, and hopefully he will be fully fit when Wolves visit the Turf this coming Saturday.
