A look round the other fixtures sees two former Clarets amongst the Cup goals, one successful and one not.

In yesterday's ties Gillingham caused an upset with a 1-0 win at Molineux to see off Wolves, the Gillingham scorer was former Turf Moor loan player Paul Shaw who is having a good run recently in front of goal.

David Eyres was not so lucky, he got Oldham level in their tie today at Cheltenham but in the end they were beaten 2-1 by their third division hosts who included former Claret Mark Yates in their starting line up with Neil Howarth one of the subs.

In the Conference there was a first Southport goal for Phil Eastwood on his fourth appearance since signing from Morecambe in October. Eastwood came on as an 82nd minute sub and scored the last goal in a 5-0 win over Leigh RMI.
