Former Claret Billy Elliott passes away

It was only last week that we added Elliott's profile to our players section on Clarets Mad, of the player sent off for a look of intent against Manchester City. His death has been announced on the Sunderland site as well as on Burnley's.
He continued to live in Sunderland after his retirement, settling on the sea front at Roker with his wife Peggy.
Our thoughts are very much with Billy's family and friends at this very sad time.
