Johnrose on the move

Lenny ended last season with his release papers from Burnley but started pre-season training at Gawthorpe before moving over to train with Blackpool where he was offered a deal on more than one occasion.

He turned them down though and returned to Burnley on a short-term deal just after the start of the season and won himself a place in the starting line up, something he hadn’t done all last season.

After two months though he was off despite Stan wanting to offering him something longer, the finances weren’t there and after turning down a trial match at Carlisle and a deal from Boston he moved back to one of his previous clubs Bury.

That lasted three months and this week they had to release him, again because of finance, but were desperate to keep him. They even made pleas for someone to come in and pay his wages.

But now, just today, former Claret Brian Flynn has stepped in and taken him to Swansea on a non-contract basis and he goes straight into their squad for their home game with Lincoln City tomorrow.

Swansea are rock bottom of the Football League and are in a fight to avoid dropping into the Conference. Lenny could be just the man to help them with the fight. The South Wales club have reduced prices tomorrow by as much as 50% and with the new signing are hoping for a bumper crowd to give them a much needed boost.

Lenny is expected to start in midfield.
