Matt joins Stanley

Matt was released by Steve Cotterill at the end of last season after failing to break into the first team. Despite being on the subs bench for most of the season he made only two substitute appearances, the last of which as long ago as the beginning of November at Leeds. His last start for the Clarets was the last game of the 2002/03 season at Selhurst Park against Franchise.
He spent the last two months of last season with Stanley and it was thought at the time that he might make the move permanent. That seemed even more likely when Rory Prendergast joined Blackpool and today the Conference club have confirmed that he has signed a one year deal with them.
