James O'Connor
In the Boxing Day game he was a narrow winner over Wade Elliott in the man of the match vote with the two swapping places in the message board player ratings. This time he's won both after another outstanding display in the midfield.

In the man of the match vote he polled over half of the vote, in fact 51.3% of the vote to take the three points towards the Clarets Mad Player of the Year. Elliott was some way behind in second place with 16.8% of the vote which won him two points whilst the last point went to Kyle Lafferty with 9.6% of the vote.

In the player ratings it was the same three players in the same three positions and they were the only three players to get a rating over seven. O'Connor's 7.66 out of 10 was enough to win it whilst Elliott was just behind with 7.55 and Lafferty third with a rating of 7.16 out of 10.

That means six points for O'Connor, four for Elliott and two for Lafferty towards the Player of the Year. It is Elliott's points that are the most significant. His climb up the table in recent games has now taken him into fourth place.
