North End led the table on goal difference from Walsall but played their Youth Alliance Cup game against Accrington on Friday which they won 5-0. That left Walsall needing just a point at Stockport to go top. But the chance went begging as they were beaten 3-1.

That was the biggest win on a day that saw three of the six games drawn, but another two goal winner was Tranmere who beat Chester 2-0 on the Friday. Oldham were the league's highest scorers over the weekend with four in a 4-3 win over Carlisle and the other winners Shrewsbury who beat Wigan.

Morecambe and Macclesfield drew and the game between Port Vale and Wrexham also ended all square as well as out game at Squires Gate.

We don't often look outside of the North West Conference but this week we have to congratulate York City who beat Mansfield Town in a North East Conference game. The final score was York 13 (THIRTEEN) Mansfield 1.

The results (from the North West Conference) are shown below as are the fixtures for this weekend. Burnley are in action at Gawthorpe against Rochdale, a game that was called off on its original date of 7th November.
