Oldham are third and sit five points away from the top with a game in hand. They had the easier of the fixtures on Saturday with a home game against strugglers Wrexham. It proved to be a comfortable victory for the Latics too who went on to win 3-0.
Before Blackpool's surge up the table the top spot was a battle between Walsall and Rochdale and the fixtures have paired the two of them for two successive weeks.
A week last Saturday, Walsall won the home game 5-1. Seven days on and they travelled to the North West and repeated the result, this time just a 3-1 win.
Rochdale are fourth, now six points behind Walsall. They are up towards the top each year and looked favourites for a while this season. However, four defeats in the last five games have seen them drop. They are now nine points away from the top place they previously held and have played a game more than Blackpool.
The other game played was always going to see at least one team move above us. It was between Wigan and Accrington. Both were below us on goal difference at kick off but a 1-1 draw ensured both went above us.
We're tenth in the league now and with another postponement will be hoping to get a game in this Saturday when we travel to Preston. So often this has been a top of the league clash, but this season Preston find themselves below us on goal difference in 11th place and having played two games more.
Below are the results from the weekend, this coming weekend's fixtures, Burnley's goalscorers this season and the current league table.
