Weather keeps Burnley on top of the Alliance

Both of Carlisle or Walsall could have gone above us, but both saw their games called off. Carlisle were due to play at Preston whilst Walsall, who are still unbeaten, should have been away against Shrewsbury.

The weather hit the fixtures badly with only one of those scheduled going ahead. That was Blackpool's home game against Rochdale which the visitors won convincingly by a 5-0 scoreline.

One other game was played. Tranmere's home game against Macclesfield had been postponed a week earlier but they quickly rescheduled it for last Saturday with Tranmere winning it 1-0.

This week is cup week for us again. We are in the last eight of the northern section of the Youth Alliance Cup. We are one of only three survivors from the North West League alongside Rochdale and Stockport.

We travel to Notts County who are currently next to bottom in the North East and being in cup action means, once again, we could lose top spot.

Carlisle are the one team who can get above us. They will be top on goal difference should they beat Oldham at home.

Last week's results are below as are both the league and cup fixtures for this Saturday. They are followed by the Burnley goalscorers for this season and the current league table.
